  1. No it isn't laapsi. If I understand correctly laapsi is cracked wheat. Quinoa is not a grain. It is a seed that originally came from the Andes in South America. It is a complete protein and has a light flavor that works well as a rice substitute. It is important to rinse it well before cooking as it has a bitter coating on it that can affect the flavor of the meal. It is readily available in most supermarkets now. Madhura is using the golden color but it also comes in black and red.

  2. Dear Madhura94, That is such an awesome recipe….I made it for lunch today and couldn't believe how tasty it turned out….I tweaked the recipe some…..used tofu instead of paneer and did not have bell peppers at hand so left that out….but the true wonder was that my daughter just gobbled it up and went for seconds…to me that is a truly successful dish when it can appeal to a 9 year thanks and please keep the recipes coming.

  3. Anywhere on Internet the time you suggested for quinoa is considered optimal. Probably the problem cited by royaljatti depended on quinoa too old or water too calcareous

  4. I am not Indian, but I enjoy Indian cuisine (Punjabi cuisine in particular) and I like quinoa.  I wondered if quinoa would go well with Indian cuisine, but now I am glad I came across this video.

  5. How much of the red chili powder, turmeric powder & Pav Bhaji Masala powder do you add to the mix? A TB of each? Anxious to make this looks really tasty

  6. Hi Madhura, This was the first time we tried quinoa n thanks to your recipe we love quinoa now… Not really sure what's it called in Hindi but wondered if its available in India and by what name?? Thanks a lot
