    Ups and downs, but overall starting to feel better witch each hours that passers. For me the most difficult are the first 24h. Then I just kind of start getting used to it.

  4. I’ve been able to do keto and drop 40 lbs in 2 months. It’s been rough trying to lose 40 more. Longest I’ve water fasted is a little over 96 hrs. That shit sucked next goal is 7 days hopefully.

  6. 9:00 WTF is he talking about the calories? Cutting calories to lose weight is a myth and it's not true? What? Of course it's true, how do you think you starve to death? You cut calories and your body has to burn fat to keep you alive so you lose weight cuz it's consuming the fat… and then eventually when you have no more fat left to burn it eats your internal organs and you die. Every person ever has confirmed that cutting calories will make you lose weight. What the hell is he saying? lol

  7. Dr Fung, during fasting, you mentioned increase in cortisol, in one of your videos. There is an ayurvedic herb- powder of the roots of ASHWAGANDHA (horse smell -translated literally). It is a well known herb to reduce cortisol by 30% or more. It is an ancient Indian remedy, and is recommended for all dieters, by Ayurveda doctors. This herb is generally recommended to those who need to increase their energy levels, and/or have trouble going to sleep at night.

    PLUS- drinking piping hot water in sips, in intervals of 30 min, would detoxify the body faster, and work as an appetite suppressant too.
    Dr. Deepak Chopra (MD Medicine, settled in San Diego) wrote some books- "Perfect Weight" and "Perfect Digestion", about 30 years ago.

    Fasting is the norm in India. It is done for religious purposes mostly. The dates on which fasting is recommended by Sanatana Dharma (the Eternal Religion) are calculated based on astronomy, when digestive power is weakened, thus advocating the benefits of fasting during these days. During fasting one actively participates in religious ceremonies- singing for Lord Krishna, lectures on Gita and Bhagwatam, association with other devotees. All these activities keep the person (on fast) busy and happy, in association with other devotees who also are fasting. Needless to say, congregational chanting, singing and lectures aimed at focusing on propitiating and serving Lord Krishna, ALSO helps in detoxification, repair, rest, weight management etc of the body of the devotee. BUT of course, since these fasts are usually only 24 hours long, cortisol is NOT a problem.

  8. Hello, If I start doing IF 16/8 and maybe once a week 20/4 or for 48 hours and if I get back to normal eating (3-4 times per day) will I hit the jojo effect? Or it is just if I started I will have to it for ever? 🙂 thanks for answer

  9. This is the science of the future. Strangely, people are highly dismissive of fasting and or ketogenic diets, and many are still talking about the importance of restricting calories. The science has shown that calories aren't important for at least 20 years. It's the amount of carbohydrate that determines our insulin levels, not the amount of calories you eat. The key thing mentioned here is that reducing carbohydrate, from all sources, lowers insulin, which provides nearly the same benefits as fasting. The Human body simply does not appear to be designed to thrive on a carbohydrate diet. If Humans stopped 100% of carbohydrate intake, fasting would be totally unnecessary, due to the sharp reduction in insulin, and near total cessation of the needlessly complex bacterial fermentation occurring in the colon due to insoluble (indigestible) plant cellulose. In all fermentation there are waste products. Allergies, joint problems, eye problems, brain problems, and digestive issues stop when carbs are reduced to zero. This is likely due to the complete elimination of bacterial fermentation in the colon. Fasting stops the gut bacteria from fermenting food, but so too does stopping all carbohydrates. The Human digestive system is identical to a feline house cat, but our intestines are longer. Our digestive system is nothing like grass eating animals, it's not even remotely similar.

  10. Ask him about gallbladder disease…this doctor is acting like there are no risks with fasting…there are…and he's negligent in not mentioning them. He's making plenty of money on this whole "fasting" thing too…books, speaking engagements…wow…must be nice being a "celeb doctor" and getting away with murder!

  11. Awesome talk!! Been on IF for 3.5 years now (23 hrs three times a week and 15 hrs the other 4 days). About salt: you can put some salt into tiny empty capsules, which are available in many online stores and are super cheap, this way you don't have to taste nasty salted water nor feel salt depleted

  12. ive lost 100 pounds over about 2 years, i used a combination of things some subcontiously…. but the end result was 100 lbs thst has stayed of and 35/32/37 measurements…. but zero tone sadly… the thing i credit most was eating delux mixed nuts no peanuts, fruit, veggies, solid dairy (dont drink milk) i ate these all threw out the day sometimes in meal quantity sometimes just snacking when i had munchies. the weight literally melted off… when i platued a change in job and activity kick started it. i would est a nice dinner when it was cooked… a few times a week, other days a sandwhich or bowl of cereal or oatmeal. i curbed my sweet tooth making one of those items sweet or hard candy… the sweet tooth went away….

    i think my sucess was from providing my body a stable supply of protiens and other needed vits and minerals…. i was a one meal a day if lucky and then center store shopping… processed crap…. my body lived in starvation mode. as soon as my body trusted it the weight dropped…

    now family yell at me when i dont eat ir realize its been a good 24+ hes since i last ate and im finally hungry. i know when eat more often mj y energy level is there but im not very yungry most dsys… when i do fi allwsnt resl food i crave food for 3-5 days when i cant get enough meals…. id say i hit thst point about every 3 or 4 weeks….

    can you pleaee explain 1. what about the nuts snd fruit diets that may have been the contribution to my weight loss and if there was any possible risk i didnt see…. and 2. while i know my food choices currently havent been great, is the eating cycle im in harmful?

It is a good exclusive product for learning how to quickly lose weight minus the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my buddy finally got cool success with it.

  16. I used to be fat when i was a kid and when i turn 12 i just stop eating for days and just drink water.i lost all the weight . So i have been doing tht for year . People were tellinh me its bad good think i saw this I actually thought im doing harm to my body ..

  17. Question: in long term fast (20+ days), should vitamins be taken? Also in year long fast of 207kg man he was getting vitamins and 2 tablespoons of yeast to deliver amino acids that body cannot produce on it's own.

  18. Being vegan myself…and obsessed with fruit, especially bananas, does that mean I could have no bananas on a keto diet? LMAO. That'd be rough 🙁 (smoothie bowls/shakes especially are my fave)
