In this video, Dr. Berg talks about the vital importance of sleep when you are doing Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting. A lack of high quality sleep could be the reason why you are not losing weight because most of the hardcore fat burning through the stimulation of growth hormone happens at night. He also talks about the different reason why you might not be able to sleep.

  1. Is it still good to do Keto+IF when you can’t sleep properly due to having kids that wake up too often ? It’s not working too well, could it be my sleepless nights?

  2. Hi I just started this intermittent fasting. I did 10 days 16/8. Felt great. Did no sugar and lower carbs. But went off while on vacation for 2 days. Boy did I feel it. Now back in it. So I’m seeing I’m loosing weight but I need to do something to burn fat on my legs besides walking. Please advise? Do I have to exercise 5 days a week?

  3. Its vital but its hard to sleep. No carbs – high stress high cortisol. I feel sometime almost like on meth -( keto + intermittent fasting). Energy high but, going to mood – negativity, dysphoria even disliking people and aggression. Not surprise, some call it " warriors diet"

  4. I'm vegan and want to try keto but I want to eat legumes.
    If I eat fats, vegetables and legumes while eatting in a 5 hour window,
    Will I still lose weight?

  8. Hi Dr Berg , I keep waking up with with massive headaches. I grind but I have a proper mouth guard but why do I have headaches soo much ?

  9. When I fasted for 4 days, my sleep actually got better and my energy level went up and my overall mood was better too. When I started eating again, all of the old issues returned. I plan on going back on my Fast soon.

  11. Again a super video and what you have mentioned there I have gone through myself when starting Keto and IF. Thankfully all those symptoms are gone from me and I seem to be sleeping deeper than I have have ever felt that I have slept before. For those that are just starting this does take time to resolve itself. It did with me. In my case it too anything from 6 months to a year for my sleep to level out. For a long time I thought I was doing something wrong as this aspect did not seem to be resolving. Another think I think helped me was doing the High Intensity training on my bike 3 times a week seem to help things along too. Along with my extra long chill out cycles too and from work helped too.

  12. I sleep no night. What can I do. I need your Sleep and Adrenalin Pills, but I lived in Germany .i finde nothing similar her. Some stuff is not to allowed her in Germany. What should I do?

  15. for me i had one energy drink during dinner between 4 and 8pm and couldnt sleep until 5am. but i woke up around 11am to mid day that day though… so my sleeping pattern is a bit off, but it got a bit better after i stopped drinking sugar free energy drinks, caffine was probably what was affecting it for me.

  17. My sleep schedule varies since I’m a nurse and work 12 hr night shifts; what do you consider a Quantity amount of quality sleep? My guess…6-8hrs

Dr Berg can you please make a video about hair and nail please please, because I am at my second bottle of your hair formula and it's doesn't seems to help much hair is very dry, brittle, keep shading, and even bold spot, my nails are horrible very brittle and splits,please this is an emergency.

  20. If you eat for example , a spoon of ice cream , will that take you out of ketosis due to sugar or is it ok as long as it fits into the macros ?

  21. Special need child who gets me up twice a night and up early. I can only sleep after she's asleep and until she's up. Ugh. Cannot solve this problem.

  22. I had sleep Apnea for years. 3 months keto and IF and the sleep apnea is gone. I have never had trouble falling to sleep but some times I wake up at 4 am and can't get back to sleep.

  23. Unfortunately, I've had the worse sleep ever since starting Keto in Jan. I can be exhausted and have a hard time falling asleep, and then wake up wake up every hour or two. Drives me nuts. Any thoughts?
